Basile in Growing Up Greek
The Age-Arts Review-Story Paper

"Even though my non-Greek friend and I largely had no idea what the punchline of the jokes were, the few 'in-betweeners' we managed to grasp did allow us to share a quiet chuckle. Like the impersonation Basile did of his grandmother (or ya-ya). And the comment about him drinking four cups of coffee a day since he was seven.
But the funniest comments were saved for references to food and the proportions, smells and awful ingredients used in some of the traditional Greek cuisine. Oh, and the 'Aussie' translation of some key desserts was very amusing - namely 'Let your booty grow' for Galaktobouriko.

I have absolutely no doubt that if I had had a better grasp on the language (other than hello and thank-you), I would have been shrieking and writhing in laughter, slapping my hand on my lap, hitting my father on his bald spot, and kicking the chair to my left."

"I would just like to express my delight at seeing your live show at the Crown Casino in Melbourne Australia. You were fantastic and had the crowd in stitches with your unique stand up show. What I would like to know is will you be releasing a DVD from your Melbourne show as I know myself as well as many others are extremely interested in purchasing it. Please also consider coming back as I know quite a lot of people who were devastated for missing your show. Please let me know if you will be releasing the DVD."

Thanks.steph
